In addition to being highly experienced in new builds, Van den Hoven Shipyard is a specialist in high-quality refits. From wide-ranging renovations and modernisations to technical installations and engines, from interiors and exteriors (including paintwork and coating), we can renovate, improve and entirely customise existing yachts to the new owner’s preferences and requirements.
The ultimate goal is to extend your yacht’s lifespan, enhanced her comfort and performance, and ensure the vessel meets the very latest technical and aesthetic standards. In addition, we often tailor pre-owned yachts entirely to personal tastes and needs. Either way, the result is a future-proof vessel that is sure to hold her value.
Van den Hoven experts carry out refits for all brands of steel or aluminium motoryachts up to 24 metres in length.
Refit: Bespoke craftsmanship
Every refit is custom work and can be as detailed as your wishes and ideas. Perfection is assured by working in close consultation with the owner and, where required, designers and engineers. Van den Hoven has all the requisite know-how in-house to manage the entire project and process, from initial assessment to final delivery.
Obviously we understand that embarking on a refit is a big decision. With this in mind we take time for personal conversations, translating your desires into a clear action plan. Our wealth of experience from successful refit projects means we can also draw on an extensive portfolio of references.

Technical optimisation
We will ensure that your yacht meets the standards of today and tomorrow. Among other things this could include overhauling or replacing propulsion systems, modernising complete electrical systems, and upgrading the navigation and onboard controls. Piping and hydraulic systems are also transformed or optimised where necessary to ensure maximum reliability.
An example in practice When Harry van den Berg purchased a 2020-launched Exclusive 1600 last year, he was so enthusiastic about his new motoryacht that he decided to customise it entirely to the way he enjoys life on the water. Harry had new spud poles installed, completely renewed the bathroom, freshened up the interior, added a new airco system and lithium batteries, and installed state-of-the-art Raymarine navigation screens.
